Abigail's Daisy Troop (Girl Scouts for kindergartners) studied Mexico this week, and Abigail chose to do drawings represening the holiday of The Day of the Dead. The first drawing she did on her own ... the second drawing she did by looking at the children's book, "Clatter Bash", by Richard Keep.

Here are two more drawings done by my daughter Abigail(age 5). She drew these by looking at some of my drawing books that I have.

Old Pirate

I usually don't like to draw realistic, but this guy showed up while I was trying to sketch something else.

Abigail's Drawings

This is something I saw at subconsciousink.blogspot.com The artist of that blog shows a weekly drawing made by one of his kids. I really enjoyed the drawings and would like to do the same here. These are some resent drawings by my daughter Abigail (5). Sometime I use her drawing as inspiration for my own designs. The mermaid drawing posted earlier on this blog was based on one of Abigail's drawing.

The first drawing is of SpongeBob Square pants. She drew it from looking at the show.


The second drawing is from December, but she wanted me to post it anyway. She likes to go through my "How to Draw" books and draw from the pages. She starts with the basic shapes in red and then cleans it up in black. She's been watching me draw too much. This drawing is from a book called, "Fantasy! Cartooning" by Ben Caldwell.

Here is a house that I have been building in a 3D program for a personal project.

Christmas Card

DONE! I finished the Christmas card for 05. I placed the kids onto a background created in a 3D program. The items on top of the fireplace are photographs of real items that I placed into the scene with Adobe Photoshop. The candy cane was also created in the 3D program. I used Adobe Photoshop to make some blur and value changes to the image.

Santa

Here is a Santa design I did for a friend. Just a little bit too jolly.
